I’m going to start the day by first thanking everyone who commented on yesterday’s post about being our own critics. You’re awesome! (And it’s so sad that so many of us do it!) I also want to thank Tina for allowing me to guest post a Chicken Tikka Masala recipe on her blog as well! (That reminds me…I need to update my recipe page. Note to self.)
Anyways, I’ve had the privilege of seeing some of my posts pop up on some pretty fabulous blogs as part of the authors’ lists of favorite posts for the week, so I’m going to be paying it forward every week in my very own Friday Highlights.
This week’s must-reads.
There is nothing like sisterhood, and I have been blessed with two sisters that equal parts drive me nuts and fill my heart with love and friendship. Okay, maybe not 50/50. Maybe 30/70 as we get older. Jolene wrote this post that pretty much sums it up. I love their friendships. Sisterfriends. Makes me smile.
Jess recently ran her first marathon (in Chicago!) with her husband Scott, and if you didn’t have a chance to read all of her posts during training, you’ve got to. At some point. They’re inspiring. After the marathon, her posts are enough to bring tears to your eyes….and make you want to run a marathon even if you’d never considered it before. Both her post on their emotions during the race and her post with pictures and snippets. Go read. This is what it’s all about.
Michele, NYCRunningMama, is a phenomenal runner…and a fabulous new mommy to a second little boy! She recently wrote a post on #whatisbeautiful, in her eyes, as part of an Under Armour campaign to redefine the female athlete and encourage women to share their fitness journeys and receive motivation, free gear, and support from UA along the way. I loved this post. I love her. It’s good stuff.
Kristin, who you all know as StuftMama, shared a mess load of spaghetti squash recipes recently, and ever since, I’ve been craving it. Craving it something big, actually…and who would have thought to eat it in a sweet recipe??
Want to read some more great stuff? You can read anything on Ilene‘s blog. I love her writing style and sense of humor. She recently put on some big girl shoes. It’s the perfect post about changes in life that may seem like nothing to some…but are something to someone. Change. Going out of our comfort zones. Loveliness.
